Brunching at Prana Lodge

Brunch with the besties

We have just spent the most amazing Sunday morning at the beautiful Prana Lodge nestled in the heart of Chintsa in the Eastern Cape. Over the years, we have loved visiting this little gem on our doorstep, which feels like you have stepped out of the Eastern Cape, into some exotic retreat in the East. The restaurant is set in the most gorgeous tropical gardens, and when the weather is calm and sunny like it was, you feel like you could be anywhere else in the world!

The owners, Gail and Tim Davidson, along with their staff are just so welcoming and you really do receive five star service, whether it’s at the spa, visiting for a meal or indulging in a night at one of their beautiful suites.

This time we booked for Sunday brunch, created by their very talented chef JC. The setting was perfect and the weather sublime. The meal was served buffet style and included everything from exotic fruits, to fresh oysters literally just taken from the sea, to a variety of meats, fish, salads and fresh vegetables served with the most amazing dressings. A local singing talent, Jason Gladwin, wooed us with his chilled vibes, the champagne kept flowing, thanks to a bottomless champagne option to accompany the brunch, and we spent the best part of the day enjoying the company of friends and family and relishing in the beauty of this little oasis.

I would definitely recommend you don’t miss out on their next brunch which I am sure will be soon as it was very popular and really is one of the best brunches I have ever had.
